Kanye West is no stranger to controversy, from his infamous ‘White Lives Matter’ sweatshirts featured at his Paris Fashion Week show to his new conquest to spread anti-Semitic remarks. West always has something to say and doesn’t care who’s listening. On October 16th, West went on a podcast and said “I can say anti-Semitic things, and Adidas can’t drop me. Now what?” However, today, the sportswear giant announced that they would be cutting ties with the rapper.
Adidas said in a statement: “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”
“After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”
Is this a surprise to you?!
