The House of Karl Lagerfeld Will Pay Tribute To The Designer

February of this year, the fashion industry lost one of its greatest icons, Karl Lagerfeld. He was best known for his position as the creative director of the popular French fashion house Chanel, a position that he had held from 1983 until his death.

‘The White Shirt Project’ will be a tribute to the late designer’s fashion ascetic. Lagerfeld thought that the white shirt was the most fashionable thing in a person’s closet. The inspiration for the project was from something that the designer said: “If you ask me what I’d most like to have invented in fashion, I’d say the white shirt. For me, the white shirt is the basis of everything. Everything else comes after.”

There will be designs of the white shirt from models, designers and artist, to include: Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss, Tommy Hilfiger, Lewis Hamilton, Alessandro Michele, Diane Kruger and Amber Valletta and many others.

Since the iconic designer’s favorite number was seven, there will be seven designs of the white shirt chosen, the shirt will be replicated 77 times and they will be on sale for charity for €777 per shirt. The final shirts will be on display at this coming Paris Fashion Week.
