For the past eight years, Michelle Obama has made a huge contribution to the Fashion World -she has been a risk-taker with style, and it’s always paid off! She’s created fashion trends, and pushed the style envelope many times! So, after eight years, it’s only appropriate that this style goddess get some praise right?! Well, WWD gathered some of her top designers that have dressed her throughout the years!
Seven designers wrote letters expressing their gratitude to the former first lady -Jason Wu, Joseph Altuzarra, Christian Siriano, Monique Lhuillier, Jenna Lyons, Prabal Gurung and Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig – each composed a heartfelt letter thanking her.
Jason Wu- the designer of her Inaugural Ball gown in 2008, wrote:
“Thank you for your amazing support for not only me, but for every creative who dreams in this country. You inspire me and I am so proud to play a small part in your most extraordinary legacy. I can proudly say that I’ve reached my American Dream.”
Although Mrs. Obama has said she is not running in 2020, Prabal Gurung still has hope that she will, writing, “Thank you for letting us be part of your history. See you in 4 years as our first female president.”
