Follow Me On My Mental Health Journey: It’s Okay, To Not Be Okay

Lets be real, it’s a rarity that we’re always happy. As human beings we experience so much dismay and disappointment. However, I’m writing this article to say that it’s okay, to not be okay. It doesn’t make you selfish, it doesn’t make you a downer – it makes you human.

I personally am not always happy, but that’s okay because I’m human. I cry at times and I get upset, although I seem calm all the time, I have a slew of emotions happening inside of me. Sometimes I bottle my emotions up in an effort to not seem like I’m complaining. However, it is good to vent, it is unhealthy to keep your emotions inside.

Instead of keeping everything inside, it is WAY more healthy for your mental health to let it out. I think that it is more of a positive thing than a negative. You don’t even have to talk to a psychologist in order to get your feelings out, just talk to anyone that will listen – a family member, a friend, a member of the community.
