As we weep in remembrance of one of the most crucial nights of fashion, we were left wondering if anything would come in place of the iconic event? Well, its our lucky day because today Anna Wintour, the Editor-In-Chief of Vogue, has turned our dreams into a reality. The Met Gala is still happening, but not in the typical fashion that we’re used too! A Moment With The Met will be a live streamed event on Youtube at 6 pm EDT! Finally, we can attend one of the biggest nights of the year! The stream will include an address by Wintour, a live performance by Florence and the Machine and a DJ set from Virgil Abloh, the founder and CEO of Off-White. The celebration will also include a glance back at the Met Gala’s most iconic looks from their past.
“It would be impossible to recreate the gala on Monday evening, though I have loved hearing how so many are marking the occasion in their own ways,” says Wintour. “So instead, I asked a few friends to join me for a simple moment—one that I hope will bring us all a bit of joy.
In response to the Corona Virus, the event has been postponed until an undisclosed date. Vogue will make a donation to both the Costume Institute and A Common Thread, and they are encouraging viewers of the event to do the same.
We’ll keep you abreast of any new details we find out!
