Dove’s New Campaign Shows Representation Of Different Women and Non-Binary Individuals

When I was growing up, I never really felt super pretty and even to this day I’m hesitant to take any type of compliment of anyone telling me that I’m beautiful – this is mainly because I never saw any representation of myself in the media. I don’t really have an eurocentric look, but I don’t think that’s the only look that defines beauty. Enter Dove, their newest campaign #ShowUs is a collaboration with Getty Images and an organization called GirlGaze, it promotes Gen Z photographers and directors.

The campaign will include 5,000 stock photos, that are shot by either female or non-binary individuals. The images display different people of all walks of life.

Representation is so important in the media and everyone should feel beautiful and included.
