Margaret Garrison showcase her collection at DC Fashion Week on February 24, 2018. Inspired by Ready-To-Wear clothing, the designer used classic colors of black, grey and white. The young designer is a senior at MICA: Maryland Institute College of Art majoring in Fibers and Textiles, and she loves to combine digital fabrication techniques with traditional garment techniques. She is an emerging designer that is passionate about fashion and creating. She is an extremely talented artist.
As the upbeat music began to play and the each model graced the runway, I imagined that I was at the Louvre in Paris, each garment was sculptural and the lines were extremely clean. The collection had asymmetrical silhouettes, with structural techniques applied to it.
I love the entire collection, I thought it perfectly showcased her expertise! I loved how the asymmetrical silhouettes translated to Ready-To-Wear garments smoothly! I also loved how the classic colors of the collection had a modernized twist to them.
