7 Tricks to Treat Sunburn

 

I think we can all say that this summer has just been miserable, it has been so hot that many of us would rather just stay in and suck up the air conditioning. However, the brave souls who choose to go outside, with the hot beaming sun on their bodies should get an award. BUT with all this being said, it is imperative that if we do get sunburn, then we should treat it ASAP! Here are some tips and tricks in order to do so!

 

1. Stay out of the sun! 

That’s so much more easier said than done, however in order to treat existing sunburn and prevent it, than you should probably stay out of the sun.

 

2. Get hip To taking meds 

Sunburn can be very painful, to help with that you should try an over-the-counter pain reliever, possibly an aspirin or ibuprofen.

 

3. Cool The Skin Down

Your skin is burned so what do you do now? Well the obvious answer, cool it down! Ice can be a huge help, another solution is to take a cool shower, but this can dry skin out even more so try not to stay in too long!

 

4. Slather on the Aloe 

Aloe reduces the amount of time that it takes a wound to heal! With that being said you have to layer on the Aloe!

 

5. Use a D.I.Y Routine 

If you don’t have any sunburn reliving products in your cabinet, then you can take to an important room in your house to treat your lobster skin; the kitchen! Many of the ingredients used to make your meals can also be used to treat your burn!

 

6. Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize! 

Many people don’t know that sunburn actually dries out skin, so in order to avoid this, you should: put lotion on top of your treatment, avoid harsh soaps, drink lots of water and shaving wouldn’t be a great idea at this time either.

 

7. Sleep it off 

Sleeping reduces your healing time, if your sheets are feeling like sandpaper against your skin, then sprinkle some cornstarch or talcum powder to help with fiction.
